#88 Shoes for Show Exhibition
File this one under ‘We really should have told you at the time’: Shoes for Show is – was! – a pop-up exhibition at the industrially-styled Loading Bay Gallery just off Brick Lane. But it’s gone now. Had we mentioned it at the time, you would have been able to see some outlandish footwear designed purely to show off, with all considerations of ergonomics and wearbality thrust rudely aside.
Nike had an amazing pair of spiky mules there; Christian Louboutin was representin’; even Alexander McQueen got a look in. One pair was even covered with copper sulphate crystals so it could literally grow its own design. Such shoes! You should have been there! Oh. Sorry.
