Lantana is an Australian-run café on Rathbone Place in Bloomsbury. That doesn’t mean it’s some sub-Walkabout wallaby-themed waking nightmare. It’s an admirably restrained, minimalist-but-friendly place, which prides itself on serving really high-quality and inventive everyday food. Weekend brunches are a speciality, as you’d expect from the inexplicably brunch-obsessed Aussies. Slow cooked Boston baked beans with organic pork belly, poached eggs, sautéed spinach and grilled cornbread will only set you back nine quid – that’s hardly more than your standard full English these days. It’s tiny, but always buzzing, plus there’s a takeaway branch of the café next door. Highly recommended.
[High fives self for getting through the review without being racist to Australians!]
[Even if they are so overly cheery and positive they rot your teeth just by looking at ’em!]
